FAQ - Contests
FAQ - Contests
1. How do contests work?
The client starts the contest. After uploading the basic information, they decide on the timeline, the number of winners, and the amount of the rewards. Specialists can review all posted contests and sign up to participate in the design challenge. Specialists can upload their design solutions until the project deadline. After the deadline, the client evaluates the projects and selects the winning design schemes, then informs Arxilab about their top three ranked projects or the single winner. Arxilab then distributes the rewards to all the winners.
2. How long do contests last?
The duration of a contest is determined by the client and largely depends on the client's project size and time commitment. It can be a short contest for conceptual ideas lasting about a week, or a longer contest that can last up to 4 weeks.
3. What is the minimum/maximum number of specialists to participate in a contest?
The minimum number of specialists is two for all contests. For most contests, there is no upper limit. However, clients can restrict the number of participants for their contests. In such cases, the project description will explicitly mention the limit.
4. Who are the clients?
The clients are mostly architects, interior designers, engineers, and similar professionals. Arxilab was founded to bring quality design solutions from specialists to architects.
5. Do I need to be a registered architect to participate?
Arxilab is open to all talented specialists, students, young architects, and professionals worldwide.
6. Will I maintain my privacy while participating in a contest?
The identities of both clients and specialists will be kept confidential unless they decide otherwise. You will be given an alias for each contest you participate in. This allows specialists to remain anonymous and ensures that the winning project is selected solely based on merit.
7. How does the point system work?
Specialists earn the following points:
- When registering for a project: +10 points.
- When submitting your project: +50 points.
- When registering but not submitting: -20 points.
- When winning the 3rd prize: +100 points.
- When winning the 2nd prize: +300 points.
- When winning the 1st prize: +600 points.
- When saving a project: no +/- points.
Additionally, some extra multipliers are added considering the number of project submissions by other specialists and the project prize money. In other words, the more submissions a project receives and the lower the prize money, the more points you can earn. This is to reward specialists who have to compete with many other participants for the prize and those who participate in low-prize contests.
